volunteering with your group
Crayons to Computers is a wonderful place for volunteer groups. We welcome you and your company, work team, church or temple, youth, school, or community group! We have many meaningful jobs to be done here that will help contribute to the successes of our students that we serve.
Crayons group volunteer opportunities are best suited for 8–12 people. If you have a larger group, make sure to discuss with the volunteer coordinator if we are currently able to accommodate.
Volunteering at Crayons is for people ages 12+. We ask that children ages 12-15 volunteer with an accompanying adult or older sibling.
Student groups need to have 1 adult per 4 students.
On-site volunteer shifts are typically 2-3 hours.
We typically schedule group volunteers Tuesday – Thursday and two Saturdays a month.
To discuss bringing your group to volunteer, please contact Program Manager, Store and Volunteers, Taylor Young: tyoung[at]crayons2computers.org or (513) 482-3290. If you already know, please include:
The date or timeframe you have in mind.
How many are in your group.
Any special accommodations or information about your group that might help us decide if we have tasks suitable for your team.
Group volunteer opportunities
Group volunteer opportunities are plentiful and include (but are not limited to):
Push 4 Pencils
Companies, schools, places of worship and other organizations can participate in this annual supply drive in three ways—hosting traditional or virtual supply drives or contributing monetary donations. You can also register your group for a volunteer session at Crayons to Computers. Visit the following link for more information on Push 4 Pencils.
Keep Our Kids Warm
This program provides an ongoing opportunity for those who like to knit, crochet or sew and wish to donate handmade hats, scarves and mittens for students in need. We often have yarn or fleece to be utilized for this program. Learn more HERE.
Teacher Resource Center
On-site help is needed with a wide variety of tasks depending on our most immediate needs, that could include:
Sorting books, office supplies, school supplies, and other various new or gently used donations.
