Thank you for your interest in volunteering! We rely on volunteers to help in many aspects of our store.

If you are interested in volunteering for community service hours, or just for fun, please create a GivePulse account and fill out the "Community Service Membership" Application using this link. For any additional questions or if you are interested in becoming a regular or are part of a Diversion Program, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Taylor Young: tyoung[at]crayons2computers.org or (513) 482-3290.

Volunteering at Crayons is for people ages 12+. We ask that children ages 12-15 volunteer with an accompanying adult or older sibling.

OPPORTUNITIES

Individual volunteer opportunities include (but are not limited to):

Administrative Support

We often need help with data entry, answering phones, receiving donations and greeting visitors. This is primarily during the early afternoon hours.

Community Service

High school and college age students are welcome to earn service hours volunteering on-site or collaborating with staff to create their own opportunity to support our mission.

Keep Our Kids Warm

This program provides an ongoing opportunity for those who like to knit, crochet or sew and wish to donate handmade hats, scarves and mittens for students in need. We often have yarn or fleece to be utilized for this program. Learn more HERE.

Push 4 Pencils

Individuals, companies, schools, places of worship and other organizations can participate in this annual supply drive in three ways—hosting traditional or virtual supply drives or contributing monetary donations. You can also register your group for a volunteer session at Crayons to Computers. Visit the following links for more information on Push 4 Pencils and group volunteering opportunities.

These opportunities are typically available Tuesday – Friday mornings.

Store Assistant

While teachers shop in the Teacher Resource Center, help is needed in the afternoons checking teachers in, assisting around the store, light restocking and checkout. The Teacher Resource Center is open Tuesday – Thursday afternoons and two Saturdays each month.

NEW! Assist with online in-store pickup during store hours.

warehouse assistant

Assistance is needed sorting donations and moving product from the receiving area into the warehouse, mornings and early afternoons. This is an integral component to the smooth operation of the Teacher Resource Center!
