Crayons to Computers is 100% funded by the support and dedication of individuals, foundations and corporations. We do not receive any government, United Way or school system funding.

When you support Crayons to Computers’ mission, you help to level the playing field in the classroom by providing students in need the tools to succeed in school. When students have the tools they need, they are able to complete their work, learn and be successful.

All contributions are welcomed—financial or product donations—and your gifts are tax deductible as allowed by law.

As a result of generous donations from corporations, foundations, organizations and individuals, for every $1 donated, Crayons is able to provide nearly $10 worth of supplies, enrichment and enhancement items.

There are four main ways to give now:

1. Give Students in need
the tools to succeed.

Examples of what a donation can do:

16 sets of markers

385 pocket folders

Outfit 4 preschool classrooms to start the year

5,000 pencils

285 boxes of jumbo crayons

3,125 dry erase markers

20,833 glue sticks

To support a school through the Mobile Outreach Program

2. Donor Advised Funds

Donor advised funds (DAFs) are a popular method of conducting charitable giving. A DAF enables donors to make a charitable gift to the fund, qualifying for a current income tax deduction (when applicable) and retaining the privilege of suggesting grants from the fund as the donor wishes.

Crayons to Computers is grateful to receive grants from DAFs. If you have a DAF at a community foundation, Jewish Federation, or other provider, you can make a gift to Crayons. In your fund’s usual suggestion process, simply indicate Crayons to Computers (tax ID #31-1507076) as the grant recipient. (The address is 1350 Tennessee Avenue; Cincinnati, OH 45229.)

Donors using Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable or BNY Mellon can easily suggest a grant through the DAF Direct window on this page. Neither you nor Crayons to Computers will incur any transaction fees.

Contact Betsy Wilson, or 513-482-3290, with questions.

3. Stock Gifts

Donating publicly traded, appreciated stocks can be a very effective way to make a gift. By giving securities you:

  • Receive a tax deduction at the stock’s current fair market value.

  • Avoid capital gains tax.

4. In-Kind Donations

Your donations help to keep our Teacher Free Store and Mobile Outreach Program fully stocked, enabling teachers to shop for the items they need for their classrooms. Crayons happily accepts donations of inventory that can be used in the classroom. We also can accept in-kind donations from individuals and offices/businesses. Please think about usefulness in the classroom, consult the list of items we cannot accept and contact us with questions about making in-kind donations:  513-482-3290 or email

Donation Hours (August - May)
Monday-Thursday: 9 AM – 5:30 PM
All donations should be made at our east parking lot. Please call 513-482-3290 for assistance.

Our teacher wish list features the items most needed in our teachers’ classrooms.

While we appreciate your in-kind donations, not all items are ideal for teachers, lawful to distribute or easily stored in—or distributed from—our warehouse. Please refer to our list (below) of items that we generally do not accept. We have provided suggestions for alternate donation sites for you to contact regarding some of the items we do not accept.

We ask that all desktop and laptop computers be donated to our partner, the Cincinnati Computer Cooperative. Crayons to Computers does accept computer accessories, including: monitors, keyboards, speakers, mice, printers, etc.
